Be aware that breakfast is quite basic. Well presented but just cereal, toast and instant coffee/tea. We had coffee and headed to York for our breakfast.

Nice quiet country pub. Great atmosphere. Terrible selection of beers on tap though.

Great atmosphere but the food was terrible. Both our meals were unpleasant. Like to support local but have to be honest.

We found this to be a gem. Not all polished and sophisticated, but a gem nevertheless. We stayed overnight. Used the hotel initially as a place from which to go cycling on relatively light trafficked country roads - went to York and Beverley. Came back to the Inn and thoroughly enjoyed the country ambience. The owners have gone to a lot of effort to make the rooms feel special. There are 8 rooms and on the night we stayed there were 3 rooms booked. Had a meal - and it was excellent - lamb shanks. So tender yet with lots of flavour. True not many beers on tap but price of wine reasonable, The country ambience was great. Lots of very ocker voices - always friendly. The owners are in the process of doing up the larger 2 front rooms which will have their own balconies. Think we will be back to experience that.
